The Next 2 Months

I won’t be doing much public writing for the next 2 months (November and December). The podcast will go on as normal as I’ve pre-recorded all of my episodes through the middle of January, but outside of doing a little bit of editing on those episodes … I’m taking a break.

Why?

Well, for starters I’m still working from home and so this will be the first holiday season ever where I’ve had a wife and a child and I don’t have to worry about being away from home 10 hours of the day. I’ll be home for the making of Christmas cookies and holiday snacks, to put lights up on the house for Christmas, and to make and create all sorts of new and fun memories.

No Black Friday madness.

No pulling 10-12 hour shifts the week before Christmas.

Just working from home - at my desk, with my coffee, smelling hot apple cider in the crockpot, in my pajamas for the first part of each day.

In addition to that, since I have the next 11 weeks of podcast episodes already recorded that means that I don’t need to read any books for any podcasts interviews - I can read what I want to read, and only what I want to read.

On top of all of that, I also want to take a break from …

Writing blog posts.

Writing the newsletter.

Writing on Patreon.

Writing on Facebook and other Social Media platforms.

… I want to give my heart and brain and mind and soul and spirit a much needed and deserved break from the craziness that has been 2020. Originally I was going to spend this time finishing my book, but I’m not sure I’ll finish it or even work on it, to be honest. Perhaps I will, perhaps I won’t - we’ll see. No plan, really. No agenda.

For our 10 year wedding anniversary my wife bought me a Nintendo Switch and so I have some video games to play and I also have some books that I want to read - not for a podcast, not for any kind of class … just books that I want to read for ME.

I want to re-read Rob Bell’s Velvet Elvis and Love Wins.

I want to read some new books on Mindfulness Meditation.

I want to explore some deeper ideas from Ken Wilber that I’ve been trying to create space for.

And then once January 1 rolls around I’ll start recording for the end of January and February, March, and beyond.

But for now - quiet.

Tomorrow I’m chatting with David Hayward (aka the Naked Pastor) for our Christmas series and then on Thursday I’m connecting with Steve Austin for a series in January on Mental and Emotional Health.

And.

Then.

Once we roll into Saturday the seat-backs and tray tables go up as the Sieperts prepare to fly into the greatest holiday season to date.

If you’re in our Facebook Group at the “What If Project Community”, I’ll be active in there, but outside of that space it’ll be mostly crickets from me.

That said, I hope you all have a wonderful and amazing holiday season. I hope it brings you more joy than ever before and I hope that in the midst of the turmoil and craziness that swirled all around 2020, I hope you can find rest as you ease into 2021.

I know it doesn’t always feel like it, but it’s going to be OK.

OH.

And as we’ve been saying these last 2 months on the podcast - To Hell With Hell. There is no such place, there is no such fire, there is no such punishment, condemnation, retribution, and separation from God.

Just …

Love.

Grace.

Restoration.

Renewal.

Peace.

Much love, see you on the other side.
